Greenfield Parks and Recreation has been working hard to open Depot Street Park, and we’re looking for some local art to display in our interactive art gallery. Adults and children are encouraged to submit their art into the contest. The winning art submissions will be photographed and printed onto vinyl posters, then mounted on Depot Street Park’s vertical art panels located along Pennsylvania Street. Art submissions could be on display for up to a year.
Greenfield Parks and Recreation knows Parks Make Life Better. Now, we’d love to hear from YOU on how parks make YOUR life better! Do parks provide you better access to nature? Do you enjoy family activities during the different seasons? Do you like being able to watch native flora and fauna grow? Do you take advantage of the recreational and educational opportunities in local parks? Do parks provide a serene place for you to hike or jog? Whatever it may be, we’d love to see!
Artists must reside in Hancock County, Indiana. Submissions must be between 8.5”x11” and 12”x18”, and must be a two-dimensional medium (paint, drawing materials, collage materials, or mixed media) on canvas or paper. Artwork must be original (no traced, trademarked, or copyrighted characters or slogans). Three submissions will be accepted per person.
Contest begins April 18, 2022. Deadline for entry: May 20, 2022. All art must be dropped off at Greenfield Parks and Recreation (280 Apple Street, Greenfield, IN) between 8am and 4pm. Entry forms will be provided at drop off. Winning pieces will be kept by Greenfield Parks and Recreation in order to procure the high resolution images needed for printing. Art pieces can be picked up after the Depot Street Park grand opening on June 18th, 2022.
