Fill a Truck – Fill a Pantry Food DRIVE
September 21 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Rotary Club of Greenfield in partnership with the Greenfield Kiwanis Club and Sertoma Club, Keihin, Walmart, the Daily Reporter and the City of Greenfield will be conducting its 2nd Annual Fill a Truck – Fill a Pantry food drive, which replaced the 40,000 Pounds of Giving food drive held in the past. These organizations will be reaching out to other service clubs, churches, high schools and businesses for their support in helping feed the hungry in Hancock County. The event will be held September 28, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm in the Greenfield Walmart parking lot located at 1965 N State Street.
Organizers and City employees will set-up receiving lines in the Walmart parking lot to facilitate community residents dropping off food in a safe and orderly manner. Residents and organizations are asked donate and drop-off non perishable food and non alcoholic beverages, the day of the event.
Last year’s event provided 420 cases of food and 7 skids full of beverages for the Hancock County Food Pantry, Angel Connection Food Pantry, Groceries of Grace, Hancock County Meals on Wheels, Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen and Bridgeway Church Food Pantry. Organizers are reaching out to other Hancock County food depositories and providers to participate in this year’s event.
