We’re finishing out the “Summer Songteller Series” at the Sugar Creek Branch in New Palestine with a grand finale: local favorite Cool City Band. Hear engaging vocalists backed by an 11-piece band of virtuoso musicians when Cool City delivers an exhilarating musical experience at the library. Since 1999, the band has gained a following throughout the Midwest, performing in Indianapolis, Chicago, Louisville, and Cincinnati.
What makes the Cool City Band so cool?
Favorites from the “Great American Songbook,” including Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, and other greats
Tunes from the “horn bands” of the ’70s right through to today’s hit songs
Classic rock ‘n’ roll and Motown
A tight band including brass, saxophones, keyboards, bass, and drums
Instrumentalists versed in styles from swing to rock ‘n’ roll
The Summer Songteller Series is sponsored by the Friends of Hancock County Public Library in conjunction with the “Universe of Stories” summer reading club. Sign up and–for books read and events attended during June and July–earn entries in prize drawings.
